This 3-hour course provides skill-building to develop effective communication strategies: self-awareness/self-regulation, empathy, attunement, and responsiveness. Emphasis is placed on both verbal and non-verbal communication, including reading body language to assess others’ emotional state. The concepts of power and privilege are integrated into the training content. The target audience is anyone who works with individuals who have experienced trauma.
