The Software Engineer II is responsible for working on various projects such as case management systems, electronic filing systems, jury systems, and data exchanges with criminal justice agencies as well as various other state and local governmental agencies.  Work is conducted in agile teams that design, prototype, build, enhance and support software offerings and tools.

Summary of Job Classification:
Performs professional, technical, and analytical administrative coordination and project management work. Responsibilities will vary based on the needs of the unit but may manage projects related to space planning and facilities management, telecommunications and AV/IT implementation, statistical analysis and planning, operational and organizational assessments, contract administration and oversight, auditing and compliance reviews, and similar work under the direction of an Executive.

Summary of Job Classification:
Provides specialized administrative, technical, and analytical support for an SCAO division and/or division director to ensure the effective running of the unit. Verifies the alignment of work products with the Judicial Department’s and division’s policies, procedures, and rules, as well as the director’s scope of responsibilities, authority, and priorities. Assists the director with a wide variety of matters to ensure the smooth running of the division, including calendaring, budget development and management, data compilation and analysis, preparation for daily activities and meetings, anticipation and coordination of supplies, logistical arrangements, equipment, and resources, and related activities.

Provides highly complex legal services to the Court of Appeals, including advising the court regarding jurisdictional issues and motions presented to the court during the appeal process; independently review appellate briefs, prepare draft opinions in accordance with Colorado law; provide legal research, training, and advice to members of the court regarding resolution of highly complex or novel legal issues.

Performs standard performance, semi-skilled trades work in a variety of trades areas for the construction, maintenance, and repair of the Ralph L. Carr Judicial Center, the associated 1255 Lincoln Parking Garage and equipment.  Responsible for performing all duties and tasks pertaining to setting up conference rooms for usage and meeting special event needs.

Provides highly complex legal editing of opinions for the Colorado Supreme Court.  Provides guidance and research to Supreme Court staff on policy making and legal research related to Supreme Court Justices service on committees, boards and other internal and external bodies.  Assist law clerks on legal research methods insuring constancy in opinions and research methods.
