The petitioner seeks relief from the district court’s order of February 9, 2026.

 

On July 15, 2026, the Supreme Court issued an order to show cause why the district court did not err in denying the petitioner’s motion to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction on the ground that two years had passed since he was found incompetent but restorable.  The respondent is directed to file an answer by August 12, 2026.  The petitioner has 21 days from receipt of the answer to reply.
