Gregory Lammons Appointed New Chief Judge of the 8th Judicial District

April 6, 2026, Fort Collins, CO—Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Monica M. Márquez has appointed the Honorable Gregory M. Lammons to serve as the next chief judge of the 8th Judicial District (Larimer and Jackson counties). Judge Lammons will replace the Honorable Susan Blanco. On February 17, 2026, Justice Susan Blanco was appointed by Governor Jared Polis to be the newest justice of the Colorado Supreme Court. 

 

Judge Lammons was appointed as a District Court Judge in the 8th Judicial District in July of 2008. Judge Lammons received his undergraduate degree from Boston College in 1991 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado in 1995. Before his appointment, Judge Lammons was a Chief Deputy District Attorney in the 8th Judicial District. For the past eighteen years, Judge Lammons has coached local high school students in mock trial team competitions.
