From Attorney to Judge: 1st Judicial District Offers Insights from the Bench

April 20, 2026, Golden, Colo. — Considering a future on the bench? Register for the Attorney to Judge panel discussion that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the judicial nomination process within the 1st Judicial District. 

The event will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Combined Courts, Lookout Mountain Room, 100 Jefferson County Parkway, Golden, CO, 80401, and is co-hosted by the Judicial Officer Outreach Program and the 1st Judicial District.

This in-person program is specifically designed for attorneys preparing to pursue a judicial appointment within the next three years. The event will begin with a 15-minute “Meet the Bench” introduction, followed by a one-hour panel discussion featuring judges from the 1st Judicial District. Panelists will share their personal journeys, insights into the application and selection process, and reflections on the rewards of judicial service. Attendees will also hear perspectives on the governor’s appointment process from a representative from the Office of the Governor. 

This event offers free CLE credit. Register by 12 p.m. on April 28, 2026. Registration closes once capacity is reached, which may occur prior to the registration deadline.
