Summary of Job Classification:
Represents the Colorado Judicial Department on various legal matters.

No formal supervisory responsibility. Responsibility for one's own work product and may provide guidance, assistance or mentorship to less knowledgeable or experienced co-workers, volunteers, interns or externs. This may include scheduling of work, instructing in work methods and reviewing work product.
Human Collaboration:
This class performs technical legal work in order to avoid or minimize legal liability for the Colorado Judicial Department. This class is distinguished from other classifications on the basis of providing complex and highly specialized legal work for all Judicial Department personnel. This position receives supervision from the Legal Contracts Manager.

Employees normally perform assignments within broad parameters defined by general organizational requirements and accepted practices. End results determine the effectiveness of job performance.

Work requires advanced skills and advanced and extensive knowledge of work. Incumbent can handle complex tasks and translate complex nuances related to aspects of the job. Recognized by others within organization for technical depth of knowledge.
Fiscal Responsibility:
Position has no fiscal responsibility.
Education and Experience Equivalency:
Graduation from an accredited law school.
Work Related Experience:
At least five (5) years of work-related experience practicing in the field of law.
Licenses and Certifications:
Certificate of admission to the Bar of the State of Colorado.
Active license to practice law.
Physical Effort Requirements:
Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
Work Environment/Locations:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. This position is subject to varying and unpredictable situations; may handle emergency or crisis situations; is subject to many interruptions; may handle multiple calls and inquiries and may occasionally handle absentee replacement on short notice. Office or similar indoor environment.
