General Statement Of Duties

SUMMARY OF JOB CLASSIFICATION: This position performs professional and technical work by providing training to employees on court business practices and programs. Positions in this classification are distinguished from lower-level positions due to spending 50% or more time conducting training. Court Education Specialists do not have responsibility for policy development for the unit.

Essential Functions Of the Position

  • Coordinates with court managers, supervisors, and employees in the design and development of training curriculum and court material.
  • May participate on committees in charge of developing training courses.
  • Trains staff on the use of court business practices as well as new technology and software.
  • Participates in the development of training agendas and materials.
  • Coordinates training efforts with the Information Technology Services Division, Court Executives, Chief Probation Officers and Clerks of Court.
  • Recommends the implementation of any new business practices required by the new software.
  • Demonstrates new software for court personnel professionals and technical staff.
  • Attends meetings and training as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisor Responsibilities

No formal supervisory responsibility. Responsibility for one's own work product and work within a unit performing similar functions. Rarely provides lead function, advice, or explains work instructions to other employees or volunteers.

Minimum Education

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE EQUIVALENCY:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

OR

Additional court experience or a related field may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
    
WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:
At least two (2) years of experience with case management systems.

Work requires comprehensive, practical knowledge of work processes. Incumbent can complete a broad range of work, sometimes complex, without frequent reference to others.

Position has no fiscal responsibility.

Physical Demands

Physical Effort Requirements:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
