May 5, 2025, Boulder, Colo. - Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Monica M. Márquez has appointed the Honorable Nancy W. Salomone to serve as the next chief judge of the 20th Judicial District (Boulder County).
Judge Salomone will replace the Honorable Ingrid S. Bakke, who was appointed as district judge in 2010 and has served as chief judge since 2017. Chief Judge Bakke recently announced her upcoming retirement and will continue to serve as chief judge until her retirement on July 12, 2025.
May 1, 2025, Brighton, Colo. — The 17th Judicial District has launched a new Competency Docket and Competency Diversion Program addressing the growing number of criminal defendants needing competency restoration services. This innovative docket integrates key provisions of House Bill 24-1355, “Concerning Reducing the Competency Waitlist, and, In Connection Therewith, Creating A Wraparound Care Program and Making and Reducing an Appropriation,” and introduces a new competency diversion program for eligible participants.
