Magistrate Beggan was appointed to the bench in December 2025.
Magistrate Beggan grew up in a large family of public servants. She earned her bachelor's degree from Augustana College, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, graduating with honors. Following law school, she clerked for the Honorable Nathan Coats of the Colorado Supreme Court and then joined the Denver District Attorney's Office as a prosecutor, specializing in appellate work, violent juvenile / gang-related crimes, crimes against children, and homicide cases. Upon transitioning to private practice, she focused on criminal defense, including as "alternate defense counsel" for indigent defendants, civil litigation, and administrative law.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Magistrate Beggan is dedicated to giving back to her community through numerous volunteer efforts. She takes tremendous pride in her family and loves enjoying outdoor activities that allow her to explore and appreciate Colorado's stunning natural landscape.
