Bio

Judge Lacefield was appointed to the District Court bench July 1, 2026.  Previously, Mr. Lacefield was a Supervising Deputy State Public Defender in the Appellate Division of the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, a position he held since 2021. His practice consisted of criminal appeals. Prior to that, Mr. Lacefield was a Deputy State Public Defender in the Appellate Division of the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office (2019-2021, 2013-2017); Associate at Berg Hill Greenleaf Ruscitti, LLP (2017-2019); and Associate and Member at Houtchens Houtchens & Greenfield, LLC (2004-2013). 

 

Judge Lacefield earned his B.A. from the University of Colorado in 2000 and his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in 2004.

 

Judge Lacefield currently presides over criminal cases and is assigned to Division 11.
