Lauren Swan

Judge Swan moved to Colorado for law school and has remained in the state ever since. She graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law and is a proud CU Buff. Prior to her appointment in 2024, Judge Swan served as a Senior Deputy Public Defender in the Pueblo regional trial office for the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender. Before law school, she worked for Morrison & Foerster LLP as an administrative assistant and filing specialist for the patent prosecution department. She graduated from the University of California at San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in American history. 

Judge Swan moved to Fremont County in early 2023 to live off-grid with her now husband and multiple animals. In her spare time, when not tending to the mountain property, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping, hunting and snowboarding.
