Our Story: 150 Years of Colorado Courts

A Judicial History Rooted in Colorado’s Statehood

The Colorado Courts were established in 1876, the same year Colorado became the 38th state. Since then, the judiciary has evolved alongside the people it serves—expanding access to justice, embracing new technologies, and responding to the needs of a growing and diverse state.
