Judge Laura E. H. Harvell was appointed as the Montrose County Court Judge in June 2022. Judge Harvell was appointed as District Judge in January 2026.  Judge Harvell previously owned and managed The Law Office of Laura Harvell, P.C., with offices in Grand Junction and Montrose.

Judge Harvell earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston and a Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina.
